JAM 2020 Entrance Exam will be conducted by the IIT Kanpur. JAM is a national level examination organized to offer admission into M.Sc. (four semesters), M.Sc. Ph.D., and M.Sc. PhD dual degree etc. programmes at IITs. The admission is offered to the Indian nationals as well as foreign national candidates.
JAM 2020 Official Notification has been released on 9th August 2019. IIT JAM 2020 Application Form will be released on 5th September 2019. The JAM 2020 examination is decided to be organized on 9th February 2020.

Section A |
Out of a total of 30 questions, 10 questions are of one mark each and 20 questions are of two marks each. There is negative marking of 1/3 mark for each question (that holds one mark weightage) answered incorrectly. Also, 2/3 marks are deducted for each incorrect question which carries two marks weightage. There is no negative marking for any question left unanswered. |

Section C |

The Score Card (indicating the All India Rank(s) and the mark(s) obtained by the candidate) will be available for download from the JAM 2020 website from April 03, 2020 to July 31, 2020, for qualified candidates. |
Procedure to check the result:
Step 1: Visit the Official Website of JAM.
Step 2: Click on the Applicant Login button present on the Home page of the website. On clicking the link, the portal of JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) will open.
Step 3: Enter enrollment/ email ID and JOAPS password.
Step 4: Evaluate the arithmetic expression given and put the value in the space provided.
Step 5: Click on the Submit button.

How many preferences can be added in the counselling form? |
Candidates can add as many preferences as possible in their counselling form. But they need to ensure the ERs and MEQs requirements of chosen institutes. |
What should I do after I have accepted and frozen my admission offer and paid the fees? |
You will be informed over email and SMS to download your final Admission offer when all "Rounds" of admission are completed. You can take this offer letter along with other supporting documents/ certificates to the Institute that you are admitted to. |
When and how do I know whether I have been offered a programme? |
First set of offers are likely to be made by 01 June, 2020. Information will be sent by Email/SMS and will be displayed on the online portal. Second and subsequent offers may be made depending on the availability of seats. |
