JEE Main 2020 Eligibility

S. No.

No age limit for JEE Main 2020.

The candidates who have passed XII examination in 2017, 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) Examination – 2020.

i) Candidates who have passed their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 or 2019; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020 are eligible to appear in both January 2020 and April 2020 - JEE Main 2020.

ii) Candidates who passed Class 12th/ Qualifying examination in 2017 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2021 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2020.

Note: Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/ qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing  JEE Main - 2020.

JEE Main 2020 Test Centres

• JEE Main exam centres are the venues prescribed by NTA where the exam will be conducted.

• The exam centres of JEE Main 2020 will be in India and outside the country too.

• Candidates are advised to choose exam centres wisely while filling the JEE Main 2020 application form.

• Candidates must consider the time, distance and accessibility of the exam centres.

• Allotment of centres and shift has been randomly done by the authorities.

 Availability of Admit Card:

• Candidates can download Admit Card from NTA website for January Session from 06 December 2019 & for April Session from16 March 2020.

 Download Procedure:

• Candidate should visit the Official Website of JEE Main.

• Click on the JEE Main 2020 Admit Card (at jeemain.nic.in).

• Log-in to the portal using application number and Password.

• Upon successful log-in, the Admit Card will be displayed on the screen.

• Use the same to download JEE Main Admit Card 2020.

• Check all the details mentioned in it. Contact NTA in case of any discrepancy.

• Download and take a printout of the JEE Main 2020 and keep it safe.

JEE Main 2020 Exam Day Instructions

Exam Day Instructions

• Check all the particulars mentioned in the document. In case of discrepancy, immediately contact NTA for necessary action.

• Visit the examination centre a day before the exam so as to report in time on the exam day.

• Candidates must be punctual and be present at JEE Main 2020 Exam Centre as per the reporting time.

• Stationery items like Ballpoint pen, paper for the offline examination will be provided at the centre only.

• For online mode exam, bring your own geometry box set pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons.

• Students will not be allowed inside the exam hall without the admit card and ID Proof.

• Do not bring any impermissible items inside the exam hall.

• PwD candidates must carry a copy of the disability certificate in the prescribed format.

• The admit card is provided on a provisional basis to the candidate and is subject to his/ her satisfying the eligibility conditions.

a) Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2017, 2018, 2019 or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) Examination being held in January-2020 as well as in April-2020.

Age Limit For appearing in the JEE (Main) -2020 examinations there is no age limit for the candidates. 

When can we avail the admit card?

No, as far as reports go, there has been no such announcement.

Counselling for the NITs, IIITs and GFTIS will still be through JoSAA on the basis of the ranks obtained in JEE Main 2020.
