Introduction

The Joint Entrance Examination, (JEE) Main is organized to offer interested candidates in Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology) and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) located across the country. JEE Main Paper-1 evaluates applicants who wish to pursue BE / BTech in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. This exam is also the eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is the entrance exam to ensure admission to programs offered by 21 IITs and Indian School of Mines (ISM).

 

Every year CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) organized JEE Main,but from 2019 onwards a new organization known as  NTA ( National Testing Agency) has taken the responsibility to conduct JEE Main Exam.

 

NTA has published JEE MAIN 2019 Results on its portal (jeemain.nic.in) on January 19, 2019. No age limit for JEE MAIN 2019.

 

The candidates who have passed XII examination in 2017, 2018 or appearing in 2019 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) Examination – 2019.

2. Educational Qualifications

i) Candidates who have passed their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2017 or 2018; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 are eligible to appear in both January 2019 and April 2019 JEE (Main) - 2019.

 

ii) Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2016 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2020 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2019.

 

Note: Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing  JEE (Main) - 2019.

 NTA has released JEE Main 2019 April session e-Admit Card on March 21. candidates can   download it by logging in. The steps to download JEE Main admit card 2019 is as follows.

  • Candidate should visit offcial website of JEE main.
  • Click on the JEE Main 2019 admit card (at jeemain.nic.in).
  • Log-in to the portal using application number and Password.
  • Upon successful log-in, the Admit card will be displayed on the screen.

  • Check all the details mentioned in it. Contact NTA in case of any discrepancy.

Exam Day Instructions

  • Check all the particulars mentioned in the document. In case of discrepancy, immediately contact NTA for necessary action.
  • Visit the examination centre a day before the exam so as to report in time on the exam day.
  • Candidates must be punctual and be present at JEE Main 2019 Exam Centre as per the reporting time.
  • Stationery items like Ballpoint pen, paper for the offline examination will be provided at the centre only.
  • For online mode exam, bring your own geometry box set pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons.
  • Students will not be allowed inside the exam hall without the admit card and ID Proof.
  • Do not bring any impermissible items inside the exam hall.
  • PwD candidates must carry a copy of the disability certificate in the prescribed format.
  • The admit card is provided on a provisional basis to the candidate and is subject to his/her satisfying the eligibility conditions.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official answer keys for JEE Main April 2019 on the exam's website.

Candidates who have appeared for the joint entrance exam can challenge the JEE Main answer keys by making the payment of Rs.1000 per question.

The fee can be paid online through Debit/Credit Card/ Net Banking. Candidates should note that the fee paid will be refunded if the challenge is found correct.

However, no challenge will be entertained without receipt of the processing fee.

Procedure for Challenge of Answer Key:

  • Login with your Application Number and Date of Birth and enter Security Pin as displayed and Submit.
  • Click ‘Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key’.
  • You will see 90 Questions (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics) IDs for Paper I and 80 Questions (Mathematics/Aptitude) IDs for Paper II They are in sequential order.
  • The ID next to the question under the column ‘Correct Option’ stands for the correct Answer Key to be used by NTA.
  • If you wish to challenge this option, you may use anyone or more of the Option IDs given in the next four columns by clicking the check box.
  • After clicking your desired option, both for Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics for paper I and Mathematics/Aptitude IDs for Paper II scroll down, ‘Save your Claim’ and move to next screen.
  • You will see a display of all the Option IDs you have challenged.
  • You may want to upload supporting documents in which you can select ‘Choose File’ and upload(all documents to be put in a single .pdf file).. Click on ‘Save your Claim.
  • Finally’.You will find a screen displaying your challenges.
  • Kindly pay the processing fee by clicking on ‘Click here to Pay Fee’.
  • Select Mode of Payment and Pay your processing fee @ Rs.1,000/- for each question challenged.

JEE MAIN 2019 Category Correction 

JEE (Main) 2019 Candidates to make correction in their Category including - Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the category correction process for the JEE (Main) 2019 including Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). All the candidates who appeared for the JEE (Main) January /April-2019 can correct their category column in their online application form (General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and EWS) till 15/04/2019 to 17/04/2019 (5 pm).

 

"The candidates are advised to visit the website, verify their Category and mention their respective Category as per their actual Category Status latest by 17/04/2019(5p.m).Since, it is a last time facility extended to the candidates to avoid any hardship to them, the concerned Candidates are informed to undertake correction in their Category Column (wherever necessary) very carefully as no further chance will be given," read the official notice released by NTA.

Students have to make their choice based on their preference and mark the preferred language during online registration. Students can give exam in Hindi or English. Students appearing from Gujarat center will have option of Gujarati language as well. Once you select a language during form filling process, it cannot be changed later at any cost.

  Who is responsible for JEE Main 2019 Counselling?

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be responsible for the counselling session of JEE Main qualified candidates.

 

  Will there be any changes in the JoSAA counselling      process? On what basis will counselling be held?

No, as far as reports go, there has been no such announcement. Counselling for the NITs, IIITs and GFTIS will still be through JoSAA on the basis of the ranks obtained in JEE Main 2019.
