WBJEE 2020 - Eligibility Criteria for Engineering and Pharmacy

Course

Eligibility

• Candidate must be the citizen of India.

• The candidate age should be 17 years as on 31.12.2020. There is no upper age limit to apply. For admission to the degree level Marine Engineering course, the upper age limit will be 25 Years as on 31.12.2019.

  Qualifing Exam:

• The candidate must have passed the 12th or equivalent examination of the recognized Board.

• The compulsory subjects are physics and mathematics, as well as chemistry / biotechnology /    biology / computer science / computer applications. Candidates must pass individually in all  three subjects.                                                                                                                                                                                                                          
• Must pass English with at least 30% marks.

   Minimum Marks: 

• It is necessary to obtain 45% of the points (40% in the case of reserved categories) in three subjects  taken together.

  Qualifing Exam:

• Candidates should qualify the 10+2 examination from a recognized board

• Candidates must pass physics and chemistry, as well as one of the required mathematics / biology, with the required pass mark in all three subjects.                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
• Must pass English with at least 30% marks.

 Minimum Marks: 

• Candidates must obtain at least 45% of the marks (40% for the SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B and PwD categories) in the three subjects considered together.

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board has issued WBJEE Admit Card 2020 on 27 January 2020. 

Note:

• Candidates must ensure that the admit card is not mutilated/ distorted/ soiled even by accident.

• Candidates with such mutilated/ distorted/ soiled admit cards will not be allowed to appear in the examination.

Admit Card Download Procedure :

 Step 1: Applicants should visit WBJEE Official Website of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.

 Step 2: Applicants need click on the link for the admit card.

 Step 3: Login with WBJEE 2020 application number, Password, and given Security Pin.

 Step 4 : Click on Sign in button.

 Step 5: Download and take Printout of the admit card for futher use.

• Applicants must bring the 2020 admit card issued with  West Bengal Joint Examination Board,

• On the date of the exam, one of the following ID Proof will be required with the admit card for verification purposes:

WBJEE 2020 - Exam Day Instructions

WBJEE 2020 Exam Day Instructions

• Candidates must carry the Admit card to the  examination room. Anyone who fails to do so will be prevented from taking the exam.

• It is advisable to have on hand a copy of the admit card, which can serve as a future reference.

• Candidate has to download the WBJEE admit card from and then print it out and make sure that the printed admit card is not soiled, wet, tampered or distorted. The admit card will be considered invalid if it is found to be tampered with.

• A candidate must bring his / her valid original documents like PAN, Aadhar, or any document issued by Govt with a photo.

• Candidates must reach the exam centre at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.

• Candidates will not be allowed to carry calculators, mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets in the examination hall.

• Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination hall until the exam is over and till the invigilator permits them

WBJEE 2020 Rules of the Examination

• The Board has notified that it will publish the WBJEE Answer Key 2020 shortly after the exam is over.

• It will be available for Download at the official website. The Board will also publish the OMR sheets and recorded responses of the candidate at the website, two-three weeks after the exam.

• The candidates can use the Answer Key for WBJEE 2020 to crosscheck their answers and calculate their probable score.

• If a candidate is not satisfied with the response marked in the WBJEE Answer Key, he/she can submit an objection in it by online mode.

• To submit an objection, the candidate need to pay an Amount of Rs. 500 per question using Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking.

• The Board will then review the objection submitted by the candidate and will prepare a Final Answer Key for WBJEE 2020.

• The final key which will be published online will be final and no further objection will be accepted.

WBJEE 2020 - Results

• WBJEEB will announce the result of WBJEE 2020 online.

• It will be available in the form of a Rank card, which will contain details such as the relevant marks, the marks obtained in the subject, the total marks obtained, etc.

• A merit list will also be prepared for candidates who have appeared for WBJEE 2020.

• Candidates whose name will be included in the merit list will then be eligible to participate on the WBJEE 2020 Counselling.

Procedure to check WBJEE 2020 Result:

• Candidate can visit Official Website.

• Click on WBJEE Tab / Go through the News & Events.

• Click on View WBJEE 2020 Rank Card at the Right side Corner of the page.

• Enter your Application Number, Password and Security Pin.

• Click on Submit.

• The results will be displayed on the Screen.

• Download and take Print out it for further counseling.

WBJEE 2020 - Merit List

 Merit List Preparation:

• Based on the papers followed by marks scored there-of, two separate Merit Rank Lists shall be published by the Board as per the following details.

• General Merit Rank: (GMR)

• Pharmacy Merit Rank: (PMR)

 General Merit Rank: (GMR)

• The GMR must be prepared on the basis of the total score obtained in Paper 1 and 2.

• This list will be applicable for admission to all engineering / technology / architecture and pharmacy courses at Jadavpur University.

• The ranking of WBJEE 2019 results must be done in descending order of total marks obtained in all subjects.

• Counseling and admission will be based on the GMR only.

• Candidates appearing in both Paper-2 and Paper-2 will secure the GMR and PMR if they score above the limit.

 Pharmacy Merit Rank: (PMR)

• The PMR should be prepared on the basis of the Score in paper 2 only

• The PMR is applicable for admission to all pharmacy courses, except at Jadavpur University.

• The ranking of the WBJEE 2019 results must be done in descending order of the marks marked in the paper 2.

• Counseling and admission will be based on the PMR only.

 Note: Candidates appearing only in paper-I will not get any rank.

• It is necessary to obtain 45% of the points (40% in the case of reserved categories) in three subjects  taken together.

• No, the process of applying for WBJEE 2020 is completely online. But keep the copy of Acknowledgement Form for the future correspondence.

• Only the scanned images of photograph and signature have to be uploaded. Without them, the application form will not be accepted.

• If you have forgotten your password, use the “Forgot Password” link to retain or create new password. There was no other method available.

• The correction window was a facility wherein candidates can make changes and correction (except a few) in their uploaded application forms of WBJEE 2019.

• If you do not re-upload corrected photo or signature, you admit card for WBJEE 2020 will not be issued.

• No, there was no date limit related to taking the photograph, but it must be a recent one so that it matches with your current physical features.

• No. Once you have chosen and the application is submitted, you cannot change your exam zone.

• You must carry a hard copy of admit card of WBJEE 2020, a copy of colour photograph which was uploaded in the online application form and one/ any original photo identity proof  such as Aadhar card/ Passport/ Pan card/voter card/ 10th standard admit card/ School ID card.

• A Domicile Certificate certifies that the candidate resided in West Bengal continuously for last 10 years as on December 31, 2019. Hence the date of certificate must be later than December 31, 2019.

• There is no restriction on date of issue of caste certificate. But, it should be valid as per the guidelines mentioned under WBJEE Reservation.
